Marin Museum of Contemporary Art

I am excited to announce that one of my prints will be in the Fall National Juried Exhibition at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art. The group show, AbstrAction, features abstract artists from around the United States.

"AbstrAction, an exhibit of work that explores the actions and re-actions of materials and theme in innovative and thought-provoking ways. The show was juried by Catharine Clark of Catharine Clark Gallery in San Francisco, who chose 52 artworks from over 2000 entries. On view will be 2D, 3D and video art by artists who push and pull at the traditional notions of abstract art, advancing both non-representational and representational forms."

July and August

Good Morning Everyone! My apologies for the delay in blog updates. This summer has been very busy and I wanted to give a quick update on all of this!

  • The R Street Block Party in Sacramento was a huge success! It was great meeting so many talented artists from Northern California. The event was well organized and fun to participate in. I look forward to working with Beth again soon!
  • My fiber art piece Commute Landscape was part of a group show (Wake, Sleep, Repeat) at the Adobe Art Gallery in Castro Valley
  • On July 22 I hosted a teaching workshop at the Women's Center for Creative Work in Los Angeles. The workshop, Artists Teaching Art, helped creative individuals explore education as a career path! I am so grateful that the WCCW exists as a feminist space, and look forward to collaborating with them in the future!
  • During the month of August I will be showing my artwork at Chromatic Coffee in Santa Clara. As many of you know, Chromatic is one of my FAVORITE coffee shops, so I am very excited about being able to use the space to display my work. I will be showing a portion of my new series of work titled please bear with me. The work will be up August 4th until the end of the month and all of the pieces are for sale!

R Street Block Party and Makers Mart

On Saturday, June 24th I had the opportunity to sell at Sacramento's R Street Block Party and Makers Mart. It was amazing to meet so many amazing artists and to get some new ideas for future selling events!

May 21st Black and Brown Sale

I will be selling fiber art, ceramics, and prints at Black and Brown in San Jose on Sunday, May 21st! Come grab a cup of Chromatic coffee, and buy some art and vintage clothing. Black and Brown is located at 751 West San Carlos Street in the Midtown neighborhood. See you there!

Upcoming Sales

Happy May! As a teacher, I am amazed at how quickly the school year has flown by! I will be participating in a few upcoming sales, and will hopefully add more for the summer.

  • May 21, 2017 @ Black and Brown

Black and Brown is an awesome vintage retail shop in San Jose! Many years ago they were located on West San Carlos, moved to The Alameda, and are now back in the Midtown neighborhood. Black and Brown will be hosting a pop up event on Sunday, May 21st featuring local San Jose artists and makers. I'll be selling ceramic ware as well as prints of my recent paintings!

  • June 24, 2017 @ R Street Block Party and Maker's Mart

The R Street Block Party and Maker's Mart is located in Sacramento's Midtown neighborhood! If you haven't checked out this area of California, I highly recommend it. They have great coffee shops, galleries, vintage shops, and an amazing art community. This event is located in the 1000-1200 block of R Street from 3:00-8:00PM.

SJMade Sale

Last Saturday's sale at the SJMade Craft Market was a huge success! My friend Jewel and I collaborated on some pieces, and it was wonderful to be able to share them. Jewel is the owner of Cactus Hound, a modern take on the hemp hangers of the 1970's. By combining her macrame plant hangers with my pottery, we created a series of fun collaborative pieces!
